Rebecca Troon will open the evening. Santa Barbara's favorite "Born Again Druid Folk Priestess," Rebecca started writing songs when she was seventeen, and has performed in and around Santa Barbara for over 20 years. She has played at local benefits (Green Party, Take Back The Night, Artwalk, Hospice, a Sarah House Benefit Concert at Trinity Backstage), on public radio (KCSB, KCBX). In 2005 she was a featured artist at the prestigious Live Oak Music Festival, and became a singing and songwriting coach at the Summersongs songwriter's music camp. She performed at Kulak's Woodshed in the first of the "Wild Women of Folk" Series, with Wendy Waldman, Katie Moffatt, and Deborah Holland; at the Bodie House Showcase at Folk Alliance Regional West Coast Conference with Kenny Edwards; and at a variety of venues with Caroline Aiken, Severin Brown, Freebo, Kenny Edwards, and Kevin So. Rebecca performed in the Irish music groups Celtic Twilight and Murphy's Law, and she helped start Santa Barbara's annual Irish Festival. She has taught music as a volunteer in schools, and made five recordings, including her latest release, "Turning Around." And she has a regular gig, singing her son to sleep every night.
