Resumés

Three vocalists from the Central Coast of California have teamed up with three of the busiest, most talented musicians to create this fun, energetic group known as The Tatters. Drawn to vintage clothing and sound, the group is named for the dying domestic art of hand-tatting or lace making. Mary Z. Wilson, Erika Harding, and Claudia Craig all sing both lead and backup vocals, allowing for flexibility of vocal style and range within the trio, which features tight, balanced harmonies. Danny Wilson, Billy Flores, and Jack Joshua joined The Tatters to form an incredible backup group affectionately known as The Lowly Sidemen. The versatility and multi-instrumental approach of these musicians allows the group to weave a tapestry of sounds together throughout their performance.

A love of roots music with a pure, old-time flavor brought this group together. Their sound has been described as simple but powerful vintage Americana. The Tatters' styles ranges from Bluegrass to Western Swing, to Hawaiian, gospel and folk music. The repertoire consists mostly of original work and obscure covers by favorite artists. The Tatters deliver a dynamic and personal live performance.

The group has had the following festivals, showcases, and concert series experiences among their performing credits: Live Oak Festival, The Strummin' and Struttin' Festival, City of Ventura Music Under the Stars, Ventura Harbor Concert Series, Fiddlin' Cricket Concerts (San Jose), Fireside Concerts (Newbury Park), The Barn Dance (Jack's Sugar Shack, Hollywood), The Barn Dance (Culver Saloon, Culver City), Strawberry Music Festival breakfast stage, Summer Concerts in the Park (Santa Barbara), and The Coffee Gallery Backstage (Altadena). Special events which the group has performed for includes City of Ventura's ArtWalk, Salute to Recreation Family Festival (City of Los Angeles, Northridge), Ojai Days and more. They have recorded 78s and performed the theme song for an Adult Education Senior Fitness video, and are aired on local television. Their self-titled CD has received critical acclaim, including being chosen as a Top 12 DIY (Do It Yourself) recording by Performing Songwriter magazine.
